• Wooden Pickaxe — 3 planks + 2 sticks (your first tool for mining cobblestone)
• Iron Sword — 2 iron ingots + 1 stick
• Diamond Pickaxe — 3 diamonds + 2 sticks (required for mining obsidian and ancient debris)
• Shield — 6 planks + 1 iron ingot

Uncraftable Items

These items cannot be made at a crafting table — you have to know where to look.

Found in Structures

• Saddle — Found in dungeon, Nether fortress, desert temple, and village chests
• Name Tag — Dungeon and mineshaft chests, or purchased from librarian villagers
• Music Discs — Dropped when a skeleton's arrow kills a creeper, or found in dungeon chests
• Chainmail Armor — Only obtainable from mob drops or village armorer trading

Obtained from Mobs

• Trident — Dropped by Drowned mobs (rare drop)
• Elytra — Found exclusively in End Cities on item frames inside End Ships
• Totem of Undying — Dropped by Evokers in Woodland Mansions and raids
• Dragon Egg — One per world, appears atop the exit portal after defeating the Ender Dragon

Villager Trading

• Enchanted Books — Librarian villagers sell specific enchantments at higher trading levels
• Explorer Maps — Cartographer villagers sell maps to Woodland Mansions and Ocean Monuments
• Glass Bottles — Can be crafted, but also obtained from witch drops

• Always carry a crafting table — You can place it anywhere and pick it back up
• Learn iron recipes first — Iron tools and armor are the efficiency sweet spot for mid-game
